New Good Friday Prayers

I can't understand why the pope has changed the old prayer for Jewish conversion. It was wonderful, said what needed to be said - as indeed does everything with the Tridentine Mass. Why keep nipping and picking at it? Is that the only reason that he has extended its availability, so that it would be subject to change? I've been tempted to join Pius X masses, but don't because I question their validity.
